What happened to my blogger theme????

Noticed that from yesterday, the theme that I have selected was not showing any of the background images reason not known but
 http://www.webpagedesign.ws/jeans3c/content-bg.jpg was showing
http://127.0.0.1/jeans3c/content-bg.jpg. I think that they stopped hosting images for bloggers or is it that they are undergoing some maintenance work. I ll keep this theme for little bit more.
Hope infocreek is doing good.
Everytime the Dell vostro comes in contact with the new router some changes are inevitable..
Different routers support different types of WiFi network security such as WPA/ WEP

The Vostro configuration to be carried out is

Different router with altogether different security config needs to have a different config on the vostro notebook and if the spec is not given then it's a 5 step job instead of 1 step.

It looks and sounds simple... only if able to do it without much of a fuss - FUSS here denotes blasting neighborhood out of the planet earth.

One valid point put is
"The best dang free energy machine I have ever seen. Of course the United States Government does not want regular people to have free energy because if people could be totally independent from major businesses and corporations, make their own shelter without going in debt, grow their own food, make their own energy, make their own transportation without going in debt ect... If people could do this then they would not need to work. If people did not work they could not pay taxes and keep the economy and of course government going. Are you worried? Your United States Government is very worried and they are taken steps to prevent this. Its a threat to all those in power and to all those that are rich."
It's nice to have a place of your own - have the freedom to do whatever is liked and whenever you want, No questions asked.. will desist from making any sort of political statement that will brew into an ugly scenario...
For the time to come I' ll be updating my personal space.
For blog it's gnumen.org/blog

Testing using Scribefire

yep its working

Lauched my scratchbox - gnumen.org

If I where to make use of the default cms package that came with the hosting company it would have been less scratchy but since the site was in the localhost with all the MySQL database, had to export and import the database then change the settings in the drupal. ofcourse uploading the local drupal to the public domain. Thanx to Rob of awakenedvoice for the valuable tip.

visit gnumen.org

Restriction of views2 in Drupal6

Even the views2 of drupal6 comes with some contrains on the type of query it can execute.
for eg in case of the displaying number of nodes for a term of blog type node some of query clause or fuctions are to be used are count() and group by

select count(node.nid) as nid, term_data.name as term_data_name, term_data.vid as term_data_vid, term_data.tid as term_data_tid from node node left join term_node term_node on node.vid = term_node.vid left join term_data term_data on term_node.tid =term_data.tid where (node.status <> 0) and (node.type in ('blog')) group by term_data_name;

It was really good to have a go at drupal - Installation, setting the working env, adding modules, themes, working for the (crappy) look but behind the scene there are so many tables that are created and queried

website creation - what else do you want....

It is very simple to host a site with so many cms available that too a dynamic website. I can vote for drupal since I am using it. But if you want to get to have a look and feel of what you have in mind better be ready to get your hands dirty with scripts we can have respite not to type in long lines of code. just eeny viieny. bit html, css be ready to dive in the php pool.
It was really simple to get the look n feel with bit of css and html editing. Lots of features are available in the form of a module.
Interesting:- there are more than one way to get things done. let your imagination run wild.
I have included an image gallery with the 3rd party image hosting site (yet to acheive the desired result), contact form with webform, DPM, blog (it goes without saying) and many more.
A screenshot of creepy look of a site done using drupal.

Design your own home....

Its fairly simple to design your own home
If you want the home to be made the way you want it then make use of tool called 3D home architect.. it's really cool - it allows a 3D perspective of the design - allows us to hover and take a walk thru the virtual space.unfortunately its available for windows only. :(

No matter how far you move away from a commonly existing matter. It's going to taunt you in one way or the other.

Product: presario C700
Model: c795tu

The other day (siblings Laptop)the mic of the presario C700 on win xp - not responding (internal and external).
Reason: Other end were google talk users.
Even though the skype was properly working with responsive mic the other users were unable to configure it - Believe it or not that too on Windows.
SOooo in the end had to get the updated audio driver for make(GOOGLE TALK) it work but still some flaws are there like the external mic still conked up but internal mic is working.

Amazing thing is HP's compaq presario c700 doesn't come with the XP's support for the devices explicitly. It comes preinstalled with vista pista. Crap!!!!

The above link helped a lot there is a audio_microphone-Conexant_SmartAudio221_XP_Modified.zip driver that needs to be installed.

IMP:- just by clicking the setup.exe won't setup the driver, use the update driver option available with the device manager.

Setting up fullfledged intranet ....

I hope to setup an intranet as well as launch a site with the desired scrappy look.
Even for such a thing work has to be done... Updating my work related stuff in the intra-blog.. hope to ho(i)st task (not )as per scheduled.

QEmu and samba / QtEmu installation[updated]

Who doesn't want to access the content from host to guest or vice versa..
where the guest OS is Windows
One of the solution is samba(Server Message Block).
though lots of helps have been provided by the linux enthusiast..
well this is what worked for me.

install samba
using apt-get install samba (or) any other way u could possible figure out

edit /etc/samba/smb.conf

[qemu]
comment = user sharable directory
browseable = yes
path = /home/sample/share
writable = yes
guest ok = yes
read only = no
create mask = 0666
directory mask = 0777
public = yes

restart the service
//not needed
//entered in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
//10.0.2.4 smbserver

in run dialog box enter \\10.0.2.2\qemu

[update: 5/5/11]
At the time of installing OS using QtEmu the process is pretty direct
1. creating the hard disk img which of course allots space
eg:- /home/ranjit/MyMachines/Ubuntu-9.04/Ubuntu-9.04.img
2. Select the valid CD-ROM image or physical device in my case it was CDROM
/dev/scd0
boot from CDROM
3. If necessary enable the network.
Now just click the start button. This will boot the image from CDROM
After installation
point the Image or device for this virtual device of CDROM option to
/home/ranjit/MyMachines/Ubuntu-9.04/Ubuntu-9.04.img

now the machine is ready to boot from the installed img on harddisk

What is Happiness????

Is it something materialist or is it spiritual?
Can we get happiness whenever we want or is it something uncontrollable?
Can we retain it for longer period of time or it's just a matter of time that it vanishes?
Why the word happiness, why can't it be called contentment or pleasure or goal or anything u can think of?
Why is it that humans crave for happiness when they know that it's shortlived?
Can't we remain constant - i.e with not much outburst of joy or sorrow?

why soo much of fuss?

This is my presumption that those taking up Linux hardly bother about whats happening in the outside world or to the economy. They are there because they like doing what they are doing

Frankly I was never formally introduced to Linux as such, even in my college days Microsoft was everywhere(no special disliking for the OS ). I never thought of the market value or the trend in market that will fetch me a job as soon as pass out. It's all in the attitude. One thing is for sure that no one can force Linux on to someone, it's all out there u want to take it.. take it or leave it

Those taking up will work their way up irrespective of what happens from installation, setting up env for development, troubleshooting .. and believe me now a days doing all these are a cake walk when compared to some prehistoric era when yum, apt where not there
Open-source tip: Require less developer time to earn more of it

"There is a couple living nearby who my wife and I try to avoid at all costs. It's not that we don't like them, it's just that they consume so much of our time. We know that saying "hi" is tantamount to opening a filibuster-proof, hour-long conversation, so we try to evade that initial communication."

Has ASUS all but given up on linux?

"The entire range was there, from ultra-portable, touch screen netbooks to high-end, quad core Lamborghinis (I'm not joking). Even Windows Vista was there. There was only one thing missing -- Linux."

5 Best pen-Test Linux Distributions

"Linux distributions are often customized to perform many specialized tasks cater to a particular industry, hobby or business. Security Penetration testing is one such niche where professional (and hobbyists) use customized Linux distributions with the whole purpose of doing security tests on networks and personal computer"

Instinct

Believe your own instinct and rely on that.. at times it may falter but don't worry since it's your own life that you are putting at stake and believe me it won't last for long.

The Dataone By BSNL

Who in this world is without shortcommings? It's no different for BSNL's dataone, but one thing I am damn sure is that I won't replace it with any other BB service provider.. reason .. I have fallen in love with the way they provide round the clock service that a typical Indian (like me :)) would expect them to ..

- frequent disconnection
- support desk will respond only after 5 to 6 calls
- speed is good
- expect the most unexpected i.e promptness

With all these I JUST LOVE OUR NATIONAL TREASURE - BSNL

Happy browsing with dataone

Why the hell humans take up the natural cleansing in their own hand, just because they are in control of hardly few stuffs in nature doesn't give them the right to do whatever they want with any living beings that occupy this planet.

Humanity is not just for humans it is for all the living beings(suffering and non suffering alike) on the planet earth ('cause i am aware of this planet having life-form).

Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop - release Notes

Guys before jumping over to 9.04 read the release notes well for hackers they can figure it out as they go by..

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/904

Somehow I figured out the way to newly install windows XP home edition along with ubuntu.

Problematic scenario
------------------------------------
Had ubuntu intrepid along with winXp but at the time of newly installing windows screen went blank at "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration" and there was no response atall besides that the "press any key to boot from cd...." never use to come.. क्या हो रहा है

fdisk -l (o/p)

/dev/sda1 1 1147 fat32
/dev/sda2 1148 14593 Ext
/dev/sda5 2295 2306 linux
/dev/sda6 2307 8385 linux
/dev/sda7 8386 8871 swap
/dev/sda8 8872 14593 linux
/dev/sda9 1147 2294 fat32

Solved:- जैसे मन में आया
-----------------------------------
Using ubuntu live CD deleted the Win partition and newly installed ubuntu keeping the home partion intact (since intrepid was giving me some trouble related to network - static/dynamic). Now I was able to get over the problem and was able to create partitions using win partitioner, but at the time of instation it would again enter into the "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration" and would start again॥ soo i did the the ubuntu installation again which got the windows entry in the bootloader and selected the wind option now enter the win boot cd and continue with the installation.. Remember to remove the win boot cd at the time of restarting..

कारन :- I am not even able to fix the MBR using windows cd.. I ll post some images related to this event

It doesn't mean that I like to play boss over anything or anybody rather it's all about the freedom with which I can carry out the task and I know that freedom has it's own setbacks like how much of freedom is freedom or does freedom comes with a set of rules if so how can that be freedom. You may choose to re-run configure with the -no-exceptions option to compile Qt without exceptions. This is completely binary compatible, and existing applications will continue to work. Do u know that there is a provision by which a voter at the polling booth can declare that he/she don't want to vote for any of the candidates but this needs to be done publicly.
WELL THATS THE RULE 49(0)

what's happening to world... Why???

God's name is dragged into doing diabolic, wrong and scrupulous acts . What really is amazing the ease with which the act is carried out and there is no repenting in doing such thing because in the eye's of the doer it seems right now how could that be.. Since these are carried out on all fronts - Muslims, Hindus, Christians... I'm mostly in touch with such groups thank god for that.. and in what religion i belong to? really I am ashamed of saying that I'm HINDU after the act of rama sena act .. Now how in the name of god they can carry out such an act .. This brings me to another question .. Is it soo simple to take law, moral, cultural, religious .. into our hand if soo why not to have election for that too... even I feel that I should form a group to head all these niche groups..

Life is said to be a blessing and my observation is that it's the need of the man that persuades them to do stuffs regardless of what is right or wrong.
Need for food
Need for shelter
Need for cloth
Need for pure drinking water
... list goes on

then what on earth was Ramalinga Raju thinking.. Need to conquer the world or what.. Give me a break... I know that he had all what he wanted in life and when it was time to be just a supportive, the need/greed took over .... why satyam became asatyam

most of the time I feel like I am just a spectator(reason:- I'm a loner, not etall an exhibitionist, keep unto myself) and how I could make myself open to others and blog is the best way to openup.
The reason for such a dashboard is because of the fact that we tend presume that we are blocked by certain instances or incidence that take us to back foot, but one thing that is easily forgotten is the inner strength that we have that can help us to either convert that to do something better or help us to take up the matter in a lighter sense.

For me FLOSS is not just about the software development but it's the way of life that u select ... simple, modest, philosophical. It lets u do what u want to do regardless of market trend, recession(that's the big talk doing around now a days). Apart from that the world that we live is full of unrest, uncertainty, unsympathetic, anarchy arising out of greed for money, position, power, now FLOSS in a way abolishes all these well may be that's the reason why some compare it to communism and i really pity them because FLOSS is far beyond and away from communist principles reason I hail from god's own country - kerala where one dominant party is communist and it's no different from other parties - shameless, clinging on to power no matter how pathetic the situation is . Now a days politics is a career option and not a social work then obviously it's bound to affect the ones who elect those - ) .

Currently I am using Ubuntu to quench my thirst in whatever I want to do and believe me it provides everything I want.. I want to make my stand clear that I am not against any OS(proprietary) what I do feel is that people will ultimately converge towards something that is GOOD now that depends on person to person

Another important lesson that I have learned is to tackle problem(s) just by being quiet.. well it may backfire at u in some instances because at times when u do feel like talking something u just can't do that remember mutation.. yep u have evolved into a quieter being :)
